Speech contest on March 15th 2017 at 19:30

On Wednesday March 15th at 19:30 we will have our four speech contests in the Haus der Begegnung: Evaluation contest English, evaluation contest German, international speech contest English, international speech contest German.

The contest chair, Michael W., invites you to this event.

Each club member may participate in the evaluation contests. To participate in the international speech contests you need to have delivered six speeches from the toastmaster handbooks already.

The participants of an evaluation contest evaluate a target speech. The target speech is a normal handbook speech of five to seven minutes duration. The contestants listen to this speech together and are then led out of the room by our seargeant at arms, Jannika. They then evaluate the target speech one another. The judges – i.e. the rest of you – evaluate the evaluations on a ballot sheet. These ballot sheets will be collected and counted to determine the best evaluator. The target speech German will be given by Christine, the target speech English by Carola. Thanks a lot to both of you.

The participants of the international speech contest give a speech of five to seven minutes which will be evaluated by the judges.

The winners of our contests will participate in the contests of areas 1 and 3 in Munich on April 1st. The winners of the area participate in the contests of division I in Nurnberg on April29th. The winners of the division participate in the contests of district 95 in Berlin from May 19th to 21st. The winner of the international speech contest English in Berlin will participate in the international speech contest in Vancouver from August 23rd to 26th. You can find the dates here: http://www.toastmasters-95i.org/de/

We would be glad if many of you could participate in the contests. Either as contestants – you do not need any preparation for the evaluation contest – or as chief judge, judge or timer. Please give Michael W. a note!
